Amylase test measures the amount of amylase in blood or urine (pee). Amylase is an enzyme made by your pancreas and salivary glands that helps your body break down carbohydrates. If an amylase test finds too much amylase in your blood or urine, it may indicate a pancreas disorder or other health condition.
